No, it's not just you. That is literally what the muscles of your face look like! No, Dr. Kathy Dooley wasn't disfigured in a horrible incident involving violent despots; this picture is a product of her immensely creative and artistic take on her love of anatomy - a seminar series known as Immaculate Dissection - that she herself has developed and curated.
Currently a practicing Chiropractor, Dr. Kathy and I first crossed paths in the early portion of my Chiropractic education. Her enthusiasm for learning and teaching was as obvious then as it is now, as her bubbly personality came through in every dissection lab. I was amazed by her energy, and spirit, so much so that she remains an inspiration and mentor.

Dr. Kathy Dooley is a chiropractor, practicing within Catalyst SPORT, the gym she co-owns.
Dr. Dooley is an anatomy instructor at two New York City medical schools, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Weill Cornell Medical College. She is an adjunct professor at New York University’s College of Dentistry. She is a visiting professor for Saint George’s University Medical School in Grenada, West Indies, and she assistant instructs in the gross anatomy lab at New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She is also a lead instructor for two seminar series, NeuroKinetic Therapy™ and the Immaculate Dissection.
Eager to learn more about Eastern Medicine, she is currently enrolled in New York’s Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in the Master’s program for acupuncture and herbology. She also writes for her own website, drdooleynoted.com. She is also a reviewer for the scientific journal, Clinical Anatomy.
She holds the following certifications: Active Release Technique (ART – up for renewal on April 2013), NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT™), Motion Palpation Institute (MPI), Russian Kettlebell Challenge (RKC), StrongFirst (SFG), Certified-Kettlebell Functional Movement Specialist (CK-FMS), and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). Also, she is chiropractic board certified for acupuncture in the majority of the U.S.
She resides in Queens, NY, where she can often be seen carrying kettlebells to the park or writing Dooley Noted blogposts on the subway, en route to one of her jobs.
She loves singing with full belly breathing, dancing with a stable core and mobile limbs, and training with mostly sprint drills and kettlebells.
